Salvaged in Akaki and in a very good condition, even today, is the Mosque of the Turkish Cypriot people of Akaki despite the fact that they abandoned the village in 1964.

The Turkish Cypriot residents of the village were always fewer that the Greek Cypriots and their residences were scattered in the village. According to the census of 1960, the Turkish Cypriots accounted for 10% of the population, which meant that there were 156 Turkish Cypriot and 1355 Greek Cypriot residents in the village.
